COVID-19 Indoor and Outdoor Events Policy

Guidelines for Attendees

UCSF requires that guests attending in-person special events at a UCSF campus facility or hosted by UCSF at a non-UCSF facility verify at the event that they are up to date with their COVID-19 vaccinations.

To be considered up to date, guests must have received their primary series of vaccinations (Moderna, Pfizer, or Johnson & Johnson) and a third dose or booster if eligible. You are eligible for a booster if you received your second shot of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine at least five months ago or you received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine at least two months ago.

All guests are strongly recommended to wear a mask that covers their nose and mouth while indoors unless eating or drinking. On the day of the event, guests must complete the UCSF Vendor & Campus Guest Daily Health Screening on their computer or phone and bring a screenshot of the result to the event.

UCSF adheres to the San Francisco Department of Public Health COVID-19 health requirements, and in some instances, our requirements are more stringent given our role as a health care, research, and academic enterprise.

No exemptions or exceptions to this vaccination requirement will be allowed. A negative COVID-19 test result will not permit guests to enter an event if they have not verified that they are up to date with their COVID-19 vaccinations.

UCSF cannot guarantee that all guests and employees at an event are fully vaccinated due to the potential for fraudulent verification or human error. No precautions can entirely eliminate the risk of exposure to COVID-19.

We strongly encourage all members of our UCSF community who have not yet been vaccinated to do so at their earliest convenience and to get a booster shot if they are eligible. Vaccination remains the most effective way to prevent a resurgence of the pandemic in our communities.

Please Note: These guidelines are subject to change depending on the size of the event, whether the event is indoor or outdoor, and the most up-to-date COVID health requirements at the time.
