Join UCSF alumni and friends for a special film screening of Invisible Corps, a documentary about the Commissioned Corps of the US Public Health Service (USPHS), the unsung heroes on the front lines of public health. You’ll learn how the USPHS Commissioned Corps affects the lives of Americans in our most underserved communities, from ensuring safe drinking water to eradicating diseases, and participate in a discussion with distinguished UCSF alumni and the filmmaker.

Dr. Carmona’s interest in public health stemmed from the realization that most of his patients’ illnesses and injuries were completely preventable. He’s a renowned integrative medicine physician, trauma surgeon, and global public health leader with military service and law enforcement experience.
Pamela Schweitzer, PharmD ’87
Dr. Schweitzer is known for combining her expertise in public health policy with her dedication to serving underrepresented communities. Over her four-year term in the USPHS, she worked to modernize Medicaid eligibility and enrollment, improve drug pricing, and implement inclusive policies.
Chris Schueler
In the past 25 years, Mr. Schueler has created more than 100 television programs that have won multiple Emmy Awards and have been broadcast worldwide. Focusing on educational and social issues, Mr. Schueler’s documentaries and video projects have raised public awareness and impacted public policy nationally and internationally.
